Sofia Takahashi is a fine jewelry designer whose career has been shaped by the worlds of New York high jewelry, private client design, and exceptional gemstones.
Her journey began in New York, where an early design internship introduced her to the discipline and craftsmanship behind luxury jewelry. She later earned professional diamond credentials from the Gemological Institute of America, developing a deeper understanding of diamonds, gemstones, materials, and the relationship between design and rarity.
Over the following decade, Sofia refined her design language through roles with established American jewelry houses, contributing to fine jewelry development, bespoke commissions, gemstone selection, and private client projects. Her work gradually evolved beyond traditional collection design toward highly personal commissions created for private collectors and clients across the entertainment, technology, real estate, and entrepreneurial worlds.
For Sofia, exceptional jewelry is not defined by rarity alone. A meaningful piece should carry something of the person who wears it: a memory, an achievement, a relationship, or an identity that cannot be replicated.
In 2024, she began establishing SOFIA ELSKAMP in Santa Monica as a private jewelry studio dedicated to bespoke fine jewelry, heirloom redesign, exceptional gemstones, and privately commissioned pieces.
Working between Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo, Sofia brings together refined design, gemological knowledge, and a highly personal approach to each commission. Every piece begins with a conversation and is developed with discretion, intention, and respect for the individuality of its future owner.
